Ia menyebut ketimpangan penegakan hukum ini sebagai ancaman serius bagi keberlanjutan lingkungan hidup di daerah.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeharusnya sudah bisa ditindak. Jangan sampai penegakan hukum kita tumpul ke perusahaan besar,\u201d tegas Sarkowi.<\/p>\n<p>Selain itu, Ia membandingkan perlakuan hukum terhadap masyarakat kecil yang sering kali langsung dikenai sanksi, sementara sejumlah perusahaan yang mencemari lingkungan tetap bebas beroperasi tanpa konsekuensi tegas.<\/p>\n<p>Data dari Dinas Lingkungan Hidup (DLH) Kaltim mencatat masih banyak perusahaan tambang dan industri yang belum memenuhi standar pengelolaan limbah dan tidak menjalankan kewajiban reklamasi pascatambang. Padahal, kewajiban tersebut menjadi syarat mutlak dalam perizinan usaha.<\/p>\n<p>Sebagai daerah kaya sumber daya alam, Kaltim disebut menghadapi tantangan besar dalam menyeimbangkan pertumbuhan ekonomi dengan perlindungan ekosistem. Sarkowi menilai pengawasan pemerintah terhadap aktivitas industri belum dilakukan secara maksimal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKalau pengawasan tidak konsisten dan tegas, maka dampaknya akan dirasakan langsung oleh masyarakat sekitar. Lingkungan rusak, kesehatan terganggu, tapi tidak ada pihak yang benar-benar bertanggung jawab,\u201d tuturnya.<\/p>\n<p>Selain itu, Ia mendorong agar aparat penegak hukum dan instansi teknis tidak ragu menindak pelaku pencemaran lingkungan, tanpa pandang bulu terhadap skala perusahaan. Menurutnya, keadilan ekologis tidak boleh dikorbankan demi kepentingan ekonomi sesaat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKalau aturan tidak ditegakkan, artinya negara kalah di depan perusahaan,\u201d
